Many nationalities can enter Mexico visa-free as tourists and complete the official entry process; others require a visa from a Mexican consulate. Holders of a valid US, Canadian, UK, Schengen or Japanese visa are generally exempt. Check requirements for your nationality before travel.

Mexican Customs uses a declaration process on arrival. Review duty-free allowances and currency-declaration limits before you travel, and declare goods over the limit to avoid penalties.

The National Migration Institute (INM) processes all arrivals. Carry a valid passport and your match and accommodation details, and keep any entry document INM issues until you depart.
